In bid to significantly improve the LTE coverage, Bharti Airtel said that it has deployed three radio technologies (GSM, UMTS, LTE) on the 900MHz band within an 8.8MHz spectral bandwidth.

The Chinese telecom gear maker said that CloudAIR offers spectrum cloudification to allow different radio access technologies to share spectrum resources dynamically instead of using traditional spectrum sharing solutions. This works via an on-demand spectrum allocation method replacing static allocation, which enables Bharti Airtel’s 900MHz spectrum to serve GSM, UMTS and LTE simultaneously.

for 2g 3.8mhz is enough and 5mhz for 4g then whats the need of this?.
neither of these would work perfectly.

4G speeds chokes in crowded places even with 10Mhz. Using 8.8Mhz for GSM, UMTS and LTE simultaneously is a baller move. Not good for Airtel, definitely not good for customers

What you mean by not good for airtel ? They will save huge as they only need one transmitter instead of 3 for 2G, 3G and 4G, so huge cost saving for them

In terms of customer satisfaction when users complain of slow speeds indoors

Till now customers don't get indoor 4G coverage(only 2G and 3G) so after this 900 Mhz they will atleast get 4G in indoor
They could have kept all 8.8Mhz for only 3G or only 4G, so users could atleast get a decent speed.
