Aircel has joined hands with D-Link to offer a lucrative 3G data deal for its subscribers across India. The new scheme will offer 1GB of free 3G data per month for a period of 3 months to customers who activate Aircel 3G SIM on D-Link data card and DWM-156, and routers such as DWR-512 and DWR-730.

Apart from using the specified hardware, customers will also need to make a total recharge of Rs 100 per month, post activation, to avail of the benefits. Aircel claims that the move is to further drive data growth in India by providing a wholesome 3G experience to customers.

Anoop Jarial, VP – Product Marketing, D-Link (India) Limited, said, “With our association with Aircel, we aim to provide consumers with a unique online experience that is exclusively designed to meet customer demand. D-Link’s innovative & user friendly 3G devices like DWM-156 & DWR-730 are sure to offer seamless access to high-definition content, music, movie etc. anytime, anywhere.”

Anupam Vasudev, Chief Marketing Officer of Aircel points out to the recent IAMAI report that said India could have more Internet users than US by next year. The number of Internet users in India has reached 205 million in October, registering a year-on-year growth of 40 percent over last year, according to the report.

In the last couple of months, Aircel has been constantly offering newer schemes for driving mobile date. The telco has tied up with Micromax to offer data bundles for smartphones, and also announced new unified data tariffs for 3G as well as 2G.
