Leading telecom player Aircel has launched new unified data tariffs for its customers across the country, claimed to be the first operator to offer such unified packs.
New set of mobile internet tariffs will offer complete flexibility to its customers to use 2G and 3G services in the same pack and with this, the company is also introducing 1 GB of internet access (2G/3G) for Rs 128 per month and 7 days unlimited internet pack at Rs 29, Seshadri R, Head of Operations, Rest of Tamil Nadu, Aircel, told reporters here on Friday.
PIan 128, priced at Rs 128, offers its 2G and 3G customers 1 GB data with a validity of 30 days, which is aimed at those who use their data for downloading music, playing HD games, mobile applications, live streaming of videos and other high data usage content.
The Rs 29 plan offers unlimited 2G/3G data with a validity of 7 days and offers great value to the customer as the unlimited data can be used over a week at a very low price.
This was ideally suited for customers who use mobile internet for social networking, browsing, getting news updates, checking mails, Seshadri said.
As the mobile internet users are set to grow 4 to 5 times by 2020, and one of the drivers for the data proliferation are innovative data plans by the operators, Aircel's new data tariffs will trigger an explosion of data consumption in the industry, he claimed Aircel customers on 2G network will avail the benefits of these data packs at 2G speed, whereas the customers on 3G network with 3G supported handsets will be able to browse internet on 3G or 2G.
