Aaron Finch, Australia's 24th men's ODI captain, will retire from one-day international cricket after the third Dettol ODI against New Zealand on Sunday.

The opening batter, who turns 36 in November, will remain captain of the national T20 side that is preparing to defend the World Cup title on home soil next month.

After 145 matches, more than 5,400 runs and 17 centuries.
Hope Finch score century tomorrow and finish his career by scoring 5500 runs in ODI and equal mark Waugh 100 tally 18

Hope Glenn maxwell will be new ODI captain of Australia 🤞🤞
Very unlikely. I don't think the selectors will consider Finch for T20Is beyond this WC, so there will be one limited overs captain.
Steve Smith or Hazlewood have a better claim at the limited overs captaincy than Maxi...

Steve Smith or Hazlewood have a better claim at the limited
If Australia think about make one time banned players captain again then Smith is clear choice then Warner.
Hazelwood is a good choice but he never captain any side so that reason ticked him out
Maxwell chance is high coz he is short term solution like Rohit Sharma after maxwell Australia can make Alex Carey captain of ODI side maxwell have good captainship exp with stars and pbks
And he has good relationship with selector head George Bailey and Andrew McDonald is an Victorian so Victorian biased can also play a trick here plus next ODI WC in India his exp of playing Indian soil can come handy for Australia
