MTV and Swipe Telecom have collaborated to
introduce the successor to the MTV Volt phablet ,
called the Volt 1000. Priced at Rs. 11,999, the
Android 4.1 Jelly Bean-based MTV Volt 1000 is
reportedly available across 10,000 retail points
across India, the Swipe e-store and leading online
portals like Flipkart, Snapdeal, Infibeam and eBay.
The MTV Volt 1000 features a 6-inch 854x480 pixel
5-point capacitive touchscreen, and is powered by a
1GHz dual-core processor coupled with an upgraded
1GB of RAM. Apart from 4GB of built-in storage (and
microSD card support up to 32BG), the Volt 1000
bears an 8MP rear camera, and a 1.3MP front-facing
camera.
The dual-SIM Android phablet weighs 186 grams,
and like the original Volt, offers a built-in TV player
with access to MTV, apart from an FM radio player.
The company has not listed all the specifications of
the Volt 1000 yet, and its connectivity options, apart
from GPS and Wi-Fi, are not known. Its
predecessor however boasted of 2G GSM and
3G UMTS functionality, and we can also safely
assume the Volt 1000’s battery to be sized roughly
the same as the last generation, at 3200mAh.
