Seeking Help Airtel Airfiber/Fiber Router Settings

Hi Guys,

Wanted to know is there a way to assign particular band (2.4Ghz or 5Ghz) to the clients from airtel router portal or its pre setted based on the signal strength?

Pls provide your insights

If both bands range reachable, clients can themselves select any of them on their device.

I am afraid that you can not pre-assign clients to a particular band from Airtel router control panel.

By the way, Airtel AirFiber provides both bands merged and optimal band will be auto selected based on device distance. Still you can separate the bands manually from the router control panel.

Yes my laptop since it’s far gets connected to 5Ghz and phone gets connected to 2.4Ghz

For longer distance 2.4Ghz is optimal because it provides lesser speed but wider coverage. For short distance 5Ghz is optimal because it provides higher speed on limited range.

Yes, thats correct, but my laptop behaves opposite and connects to 5Ghz, even if its in another room.
