Thirteen-year-old Akshat Mittal creator of Oddeven.com, which matches individuals to potential ride-share or carpool in the direction of their commute, has sold his company to carpool app Orahi.com for an undisclosed amount.
The site was developed and launched in December 2015 by the standard 9 student anticipating the odd-even vehicle rule implemented by the Delhi government in January this year, to control pollution in NCR.
Following the all-cash deal, the student of Amity International School in Delhi will be a part of the company's technical advisory board and will be mentored by Orahi for a year. "The algorithm was developed by me and I look forward to the year-long stint with the board," says Mittal. The odd-even.com website will re-direct users to the Orahi interface going ahead.
