I am planning to take fibre connection. Here only option is bsnl.Is it good? Any suggestions for installation process,Modem??Please guide

Hi,

I have taken BSNL FTTH Connection recently.

I have opted for Rs 449 Plan which has 30 Mbps speed till 3.3 GB after that 2 Mbps.

I got the connection thru a local vendor who charged Rs 5000 (3000 for Digisol ONT and 2000 as installation charges). The installation and activation took 3 days which I feel is OK.

Overall i am happy with the service BSNL is giving as i get the speed and there is almost no downtime faced by me.

Actually reliability of the connection is totally depend upon the company or LCO from where u are going to take connection.
If your LCO is good technically then you will also get good service otherwise you are screwed.

I have not much knowledge but he asked initially 3000 for installation, then I enquired about modem then he said 3000 for single band modem and 4500 for double band modem including installation. What is single band modem and double band modem?

Single band only support 2.4Ghz and dual band support both 2.4Ghz as well as 5Ghz. Normally 2.4Ghz covers more distant than 5Ghz but 5Ghz carry more speed than 2.4Ghz. Go for dual band router.
