Voot Select announced the exclusive content deal with its corporate sibling ShowTime and will become the exclusive home to new ShowTime originals starting with the political thriller The Comey Rule.
The upcoming ShowTime shows which are part of the content deal includes The Comey Rule which will premiere on September 27, The Good Lord Bird and The Comedy Store which will premiere on October 5,2020. The content deal also includes shows like Reagans, Your Honour, Moonbase 8, First Ladies, and Halo.
This content deal marks the end of Disney+ Hotstar’s supremacy over premium networks shows. The streamer was an exclusive home for premium dramas and comedies from WarnerMedia owned HBO, ViacomCBS’s ShowTime and Disney’s own FX networks. The deal isn’t a surprise as after starting subscription model many of the old shows like The Affair, Ray Donavan were made available on Voot Select which were earlier exclusively available on Disney+ Hotstar Premium.
