Vodafone Idea and Airtel announced revised tariff rates for prepaid customers. Starting December 3, users will have to pay 14 to 50 percent higher of what they are paying.

Vodafone Idea and Airtel announced revised tariff rates for prepaid customers. Starting December 3, users will have to pay 14 to 50 percent higher of what they are paying.

Jio is also increasing prepaid tariff rates. Jio will introduce New All in One plan on December 6, 2019. The new tariff will cost up to 40 percent higher than the existing plan. Jio promises the users will get up to 300 percent more benefits. 

Jio used to offer unlimited on-net and off-net voice calls. But on October 6th Jio announced that they will not offer unlimited off-net calls. The reason behind this move was to recover the loss incurred by the Interconnect Usage Charge (IUC). IUC is the charge that one telecom operator has to pay to the other telecom operator when its users make an outgoing call. The price of the IUC is 6 paisa per minute.

Recently, Vodafone Idea and Airtel also reported a quarterly loss of ₹50,922 crores and ₹23,045.

Increase in tariff rates of Vodafone Idea

An unlimited annual plan which costs ₹1699 will now cost ₹2399. Users will have to pay ₹700 or 41.20 percent more. The current tariff offers unlimited voice calls, 100 SMS per day and 1.5 GB data. But new tariffs will offer unlimited on-net calls and 12000 mins for off-net calls. Other benefits remain the same.

The other annual plan which costs ₹999 will cost ₹1499. Users will have to pay ₹500 or 50 percent more. The current tariff offers unlimited voice calls, 3600 SMS and 12 GB data. The new tariff will offer unlimited on-net calls and 12000 mins for off-net calls, 3600 SMS and 24 GB data.

An unlimited 84 days plan will cost ₹699, currently, it costs ₹511. Users will have to pay ₹188 or 36.79 percent more. It offers unlimited calling, 100 SMS per day and 2 GB per day data. All other benefits remain the same, the new tariff will have the FUP of 3000 mins for off-net calls.

Another unlimited 84 days plan is priced at ₹458 will cost ₹599. Users will have to pay ₹141 or 30.79 percent more. The plan offers unlimited calling, 100 SMS per day and 1.5 GB per day data. The new tariff will have the FUP of 3000 mins for off-net calls.

The unlimited 3 GB per day data plan, valid for 28 days costs ₹349 will cost ₹399. Users will have to pay ₹50 or 14.33 percent more. The new plan will have the FUP of 1000 mins for off-net calls.

The unlimited 2 GB per day data plan, valid for 28 days costs ₹229 will cost ₹299. Users will have to pay ₹70 or 30.57 percent more. The new plan will have the FUP of 1000 mins for off-net calls.

The unlimited 1.5 GB per day data plan, valid for 28 days costs ₹199 will cost ₹249. Users will have to pay ₹50 or 25.13 percent more. The new plan will have the FUP of 1000 mins for off-net calls.

₹129 plan which offers unlimited calling, 300 SMS and 2 GB data for 28 days will cost ₹149. Users will have to pay ₹19 or 15.50 percent more. The new plan will have the FUP of 1000 mins for off-net calls.

Combo voucher which costs ₹65 offers ₹55 talk-time, 200 MB data, calls at 1 P/sec will cost ₹79. The new tariff will offer ₹64 talk-time, 200 MB data, calls at 1 P/sec. Users will have to pay ₹14 or 21.54 percent more.

Another combo voucher which costs ₹35 offers ₹26 talk-time, 100 MB data, calls at 2.5 P/sec will cost ₹49. The new tariff will offer ₹38 talk-time, 100 MB data, calls at 2.5 P/sec. Users will have to pay ₹14 or 40 percent more.

Increase in tariff rates of Airtel

An unlimited annual plan which costs ₹1699 will cost ₹2398. Users will have to pay ₹699 or 41.14 percent more. It offers unlimited voice calls, 100 SMS per day and 1.5 GB data.

The other annual plan which currently costs ₹998 will cost ₹1498. Users will have to pay ₹500 or 50.10 percent more. The current tariff offers unlimited voice calls, 3600 SMS and 12 GB data. The new tariffs will offer unlimited on-net calls, 3600 SMS and 24 GB data.

Another unlimited 84 days plan will cost ₹598, currently, it costs ₹448 and it is valid for 82 days. Users will have to pay ₹150 or 33.48 percent more. The plan offers unlimited calling, 100 SMS per day and 1.5 GB per day data.

The unlimited 2 GB per day data plan, valid for 28 days costs ₹249 will cost ₹298. Users will have to pay ₹49 or 19.68 percent more.

The unlimited 1.5 GB per day data plan, valid for 28 days costs ₹199 will cost ₹248. Users will have to pay ₹49 or 24.62 percent more.

₹129 plan which offers unlimited calling, 300 SMS and 2 GB data for 28 days will cost ₹148. Users will have to pay ₹19 or 14.73 percent more.

Combo voucher which costs ₹65 offers ₹55 talk-time, 200 MB data, calls at 1 P/sec will cost ₹79. The new tariff will offer ₹64 talk-time, 200 MB data, calls at 1 P/sec. Users will have to pay ₹14 or 21.54 percent more.

Another combo voucher which costs ₹35 offers ₹26 talk-time, 100 MB data, calls at 2.5 P/sec will cost ₹49. The new tariff will offer ₹38 talk-time, 100 MB data, calls at 2.5 P/sec. Users will have to pay ₹14 or 40 percent more.

Fair Usage Policy applies to unlimited calling from Airtel to other networks.

Reliance Jio is yet to announce the new tariff rates.
