Xolo Era 4G gets Android Marshmallow update

Xolo has rolled out Android Marshmallow update Era 4G smartphone. The update is being rolled out over-the-air and all Ear 4G users in India will get the same eventually. Users can download the update manually as well by going to Settings>About Phone>Software Update. The Marshmallow update will bring UI changes, stability improvements, speed optimizations as well as bug fixes. There’s also the Doze battery saving feature that hibernates the background apps when the smartphone is in standby mode. The Now on Tap for Google Now in Android Marshmallow shows contextual information by long pressing the home button. The app permissions allows users to control the information they share with apps.

Xolo Era 4G supports VoLTE technology. It is priced at Rs 4,777 and the device is Snapdeal exclusive. Xolo Era 4G is the successor to the XOLO ERA model which the company claims sold more than 150,000 units on Snapdeal.
Xolo Era 4G has a 5-inch HD IPS display with 178 degree viewing angles. There’s Corning Gorilla Glass for protection against scratches. The smartphone is powered by a 1.5 GHz Quad-Core processor with 1 GB RAM and 8GB internal memory (expandable up to 32GB via microSD card). It was launched with Android Lollipop v5.1 OS. This is a dual-SIM smartphone.

Xolo Era 4G has a 5MP rear camera and 2MP front camera. The Era 4G comes equipped with multilingual support for regional languages : Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil and Telugu . It is backed by a 2500 mAH battery. The dimensions of the smartphone are 145.5 x 72 x 8.45 mm. It weighs 142 grams.
