Why Widevine: Widevine is an industry standard to protect content as it's transferred over the internet and played back on devices. It uses a combination of CENC encryption, licensing key exchange, and streaming quality.
It has 3 Levels of security, which decides what quality of content can be streamed on apps that use them (Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+):
  • L1: Any quality upto and inclusive of 1080p
  • L2: Any quality upto and inclusive of 720p
  • L3: Any quality upto and inclusive of 540p
L2 phones are very rare in the market, and those that don't support L1 are automatically L3.

If you want your device to be featured in this list, download this app: DRM Info – Apps on Google Play and post a screenshot of the app on your phone to this thread.

PS: Having Widevine L1 alone doesnt guarantee that the app will stream HD video even in high internet, as Amazon and Netflix are known to use certain methods to stop devices from streaming HD video even knowing that the phone supports L1

* OnePlus 5 and 5T also support Widevine L1, but for that, the devices have to be sent to OnePlus as there is no OTA update to do that. OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T receive update to play Netflix & Amazon Prime Video HD, but there's a catch

I think all Galaxy Phones released this year (except M10) must have L1. I don't see relevant threads anywhere so thats why I want members to confirm first
Samsung's all M Series phones have Widevide L1.

Screenshot from Amazon.in of M10 (cheapest among the M Series)
Still I won't include all unless i see shots like these for all M series phones or the app screenshot
