Letrons is a Turkish company that is modding BMW cars into full sized transformers. The company plans to eventually commercialise the process, and add more features. The current Transformers are made of BMW cars, but the process developed by Letrons can be applied to any car.

The cars cannot actually be driven in, but can be controlled by remote. The transformed car cannot walk around, and is stuck standing where it transforms, but given further funding, the company says that walking functionality can be developed. There are no pricing details publicly available, but the Letrons are for sale, and there are five models ready. The models are available to customers if the usage scenario aligns with the vision that Letrons has. The cars have an electric engine on board, and in the near future, Letrons says the cars can be driven around as well.

The wrist, arms, fingers, neck and head are the parts that can be controlled over remote. The lights can also be controlled individually. There is support for coding in the movements, if necessary. The mod has support for Wi-Fi. More models are expected in the future. There is a low possibility that Letrons are an elaborate hoax, according to a report in Gizmodo. The project was created by a team of only 12 engineers supported by 4 technicians.
