To give competition to the tablets existing in the market, Toshiba is launching a 10.1-inch tablet which will be comparable in price with the Apple iPad. This tablet is called as the Regza Tablet.

The Toshiba tablet will run on Google's forthcoming Honeycomb version of the Android operating system. It is like any other touch screen tablet which plays high definition videos and is designed for web browsing, games and electronic books along with Nvidia's Tegra 2 mobile processor. The internet can be connected through Wi-Fi but do not have in-build capabilities to connect to high-speed mobile phone networks. The cameras in the tablet are in the front and rare facing.

Toshiba tablet is considered to be priced at a competitive range as to the Apple iPad. They are attempting to steal a piece of the tablet market from Apple to have a liking towards the Toshiba tablet. Other tablets launched by Dell and Samsung have not been able to compete with Apple on price point.

Jeff Barney, general manager of digital products for Toshiba America, made it clear that the tablet is only the company's first and they are planning to expand this category to develop a family of tablets.
