the 2018 TNPL player draft comes to an end. As many as 128 players were picked today by the eight teams (16 players each). With the teams finalizing their squads, the players will be looking to get used to their new teammates, mingle well as an unit and take the field when the third edition of the tournament gets underway on July 11.

Sixteen outstation players are set to participate in the third edition of Tamil Nadu Premier League for the first time. The Board of Control for Cricket, however, has to approve Tamil Nadu Cricket Association's move.
Hanuma Vihari, Sheldon Jackson, Unmukt Chand, Dharmendra Jadeja, Shorab Dhaliwal, Amit Verma, Raiphi Vincent Gomez and Shaurya Sanandia are some of the players expected to partake in the league. "Allowing up to two outstation players for each franchise is bound to increase the quality of cricket and the level of competition," said TNCA joint secretary RI Palani. "Playing alongside and against outstation players will further sharpen the skills of our players, and that was the thought behind the move," he added.
As per a TNCA press release on Wednesday (July 5), the norm for outstation players looking forward to take part in the league pertains to them being uncapped and those players shouldn't have participated in the IPL 2018. The players are also required to obtain the No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their respective state associations. Franchises will also be given the chance to play both outstation players in the final XI.
