No use for customers. If they want they can do MNP. If MNP not available means only useful. Now no use. They choose as per choose network. If Tatasky and Airtel dth merge means miracle. It's nothing

No sale of DTH to Airtel in this deal. But they could be eying it in future as they are attempting to integrate Tatasky with Tata broadband.
I think Airtel wanted to fastrack mobile business sale first to prevent loss of tata docomo customers.

Tata and Bharti to combine consumer telecom business via @tatacompanies
Tata and Bharti Airtel will work together to further explore other mutual areas of cooperation, that will be value accretive for both the groups. The transaction will also provide Bharti Airtel with an indefeasible right to use (IRU) for part of the existing fibre network of Tata.
Tata is also in initial stages of exploring combination of its enterprise business with Tata Communications and its retail fixed line and broadband business with Tata Sky.

  • Tata CMB to merge with Bharti Airtel
  • Over 40 million customers to join Bharti Airtel and benefit from state-of-the-art 4G mobile network, with fall back on its 3G and 2G ecosystem
  • Merger on a debt-free, cash-free basis
  • All past liabilities and dues to be settled by Tata
  • Bharti Airtel will assume a small portion of the unpaid spectrum liability of Tata
  • Merger to bolster Bharti Airtel’s pre-eminent spectrum pool, with significant additional spectrum in 1,800, 2,100 and 850 MHz bands, all widely used for 4G
  • Transaction will also provide Bharti Airtel right to use Tata’s existing fibre network
  • Merger of TTL’s customers and revenue base will further strengthen Bharti Airtel’s Revenue Market Share (RMS)
  • Tata to retain its stake in Viom and take care of associated liabilities

No They Can' t Sell DTH Business Cause TS Is Profitable Firm Rather Then Docomo & Other Things Docomo Survive For Other Player (Like Vodafone, Airtel, Jio Etc.) While TS Is Stronger Then It's Competitors In terms Of Infrastructure & Their Parent Company Sky Inc. Also Giant In Their Filed. IMO

They Can't Sell Or Marge Their DTH Business But Insted Of They Prove No.1 Position Like Apple , Google Etc.

Please Don't Take Seriously It's My Personal Opinion Nothing Else.

What do you want to say?🤔

Is this news of integration true. What will be the outcome.
Tata press release says they have initiated internal re-organization subjected to board approval.
They could be merging it to sell it easily, or to offer DTH+Broadband under same management.
Also the fact that they are already letting Airtel use Tata's fiber make it possible a future sale may happen.
Anyway they are making this statement to indicate a future direction. It may or may not be done.

Airtel only has to pay the govt. some unpaid spectrum license fee of docomo for this acquisition (zero cash to tata).
The main thing here is that instead of selling TataSky to sweeten the deal they offered the Fiber network to Airtel.
The DTH deal is in freeze mode and now Airtel will have to pay high amount if they want to buy.
Still Tata is indicating they want to explore further cooperation.
