I'm making this thread to discuss about Disney's upcoming streaming service under Star Brand which will make debut in 2021.

Star branded service is still in planning stage and will be utilizing properties that are owned by Disney and acquired with 21st Century Fox. Disney TV studios including ABC Signature, 20th Television and Touchstone Television along with FX Productions will be content engines creating content for the service that will be more adult skewing. The episodic content going to come to service is not only new but also library episodic shows which doesn’t belong on Disney+.

The service will be tailoring the content from both linear launches of episodic content from the U.S. and also will be creating new content for the market respecting local content requirement jurisdictions. The service will be appropriate for all the major markets and will be launching outside of the U.S. The packaging of the service in each market will vary and will look different in each one of them. More details about the service will be unveiled at Disney’s Investor meet.

Star branded service will be tailored to each market and won’t look the same everywhere says Disney’s CFO | OnlyTech.com

Recently, social media accounts on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter have been opened for DisneyPlus Star, with both Twitter and Instagram accounts being verified. Which means they are unlikely to be created by anyone since the verification badge is many used by big brands or celebrities. Before Disney+ launched, several social media accounts were created but kept private until the accounts were officially launched.

It is becoming more and more confusing... They should have either launched Hotstar in majority regions, or else rebrand everything to Disney+, including Hotstar...

They left Hotstar branding out because, Hotstar is independently available in most of the markets where Disney+ is available. They would have gone with Hotstar internationally if not for the laws that are brewing in major international markets like ANZ, Canada and Europe. In LATAM and Caribbean they could have used HOTSTAR instead of the new app, but then they are in love with '+' branding. BTW this the worst logo I have seen for Star.
