Samsung last month launched its flagship smartphones, the Galaxy S7 and the Galaxy S7 Edge. Although the two phones have earned a fair amount of praise in the media, some early adopters of the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge are facing palm/ finger rejection issues.

The Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge handset's design and the curved display will always lead to some kind of unintended interaction of the palm with the screen. To prevent this from being a problem, the Galaxy S7 Edge has a palm rejection tool built-in to avoid the accidental triggering of any application or the screen. However, as first spotted by Android Police, the palm-rejection tool doesn't seem to work for some users.

The South Korean tech giant recently rolled out a software update only for the Galaxy S7 Egde however, it is still unclear if the 3.32MB update was specifically to fix the palm rejection issue or not, adds Sammobile. Few users have also reported the issue even after installing the "urgent software update" for the Galaxy S7 Edge. It is being said that because of the issue, the camera app might not register the touch as the user's hands touch the curved display area while holding the device in landscape mode. Problems while typing on the onscreen keyboard might also take place.

The Samsung Galaxy S7 features a 5.1-inch QHD Super Amoled display, while the Galaxy S7 Edge packs a 5.5-inch QHD Super Amoled display. The always-on display lets users check notifications, time, and date without having to wake up the device.

Samsung has reportedly sold more than 100,000 units of Galaxy S7 series smartphones in South Korea within the first two days of its official launch. A recent rumour hints that a smaller Samsung Galaxy S7 Mini might also be under works. The handset will be looked upon as a competitor to the much-talked-about iPhone SE handset, which is likely to launch on March 21 .
