Do you remember Symbian Operating System? Yes, this is the same OS that came in the high-end phones of Nokia and in all the N series phones. The N8 series smartphone which came later also used the Symbian OS. However, if you are still using a phone powered by Symbian-OS then you will not be able to access WhatsApp after December 31.
The chat app had confirmed the news on its blog post earlier this year. However, with the nearing time, it is important to remind you that WhatsApp will withdraw its support from smartphones, which are powered by Symbian OS. Also support will end for a few of the Windows and BlackBerry phones. Phones running on Android 2.1 and Android 2.2 will also lose the support for WhatsApp.
Company will end the support for these phones after December 31, 2016.

[size=medium][size=medium][size=medium]While Nokia has stopped making phones for quite a long time now, there are few of its Symbian powered phones that are still widely used such as Nokia E6, Nokia 5233, Nokia C5 03, Nokia Asha 306 and Nokia E52.

"While these mobile devices have been an important part of our story, they don't offer the kind of capabilities we need to expand our app's features in the future", WhatsApp noted in its blog. "This was a tough decision for us to make, but the right one in order to give people better ways to keep in touch with friends, family, and loved ones using WhatsApp."
