Galaxy S11 may be a work of art if its codename is anything to go by

Samsung has codenamed the Galaxy S11 ‘Picasso’, according to Twitter leakster Ice universe. Picasso was an artist of many talents, including painting and poetry, but exactly why his name has been chosen to define the Galaxy S11 as Samsung begins development is unclear. Perhaps the Galaxy S11 will be a work of art as far as the design is concerned, but with Samsung usually following a two-year cycle for major design upgrades, it’s not expected that the Galaxy S11 will look much different from its predecessor.

The only way Samsung can help ease the transition for users is to give them a pair of Galaxy Buds for free. It already did that quite liberally with pre-orders for the Galaxy S10. Even a recent promotion for the Galaxy S10 series offers each customer a free pair. Those who are real sticklers for their wired headphones will just have to use the USB Type-C adapter that it will surely ship in the box.

Galaxy S11 probably won’t have a headphone jack either

  • Substantial Camera upgrade over S10 series
  • Centred Infinity O display with a smaller cutout than the Note 10 series
  • OneUI 2.x based on Android Q
  • Codename "picasso"

Not sure of the accuracy, but:
  • It could feature the 108MP camera
  • 6K@30fps video recording
  • 10x Optical Zoom Telephoto Lens

  • The Galaxy S11 camera is expected to be revolutionary as the brand will be using a brand new rear camera module where colour in images will pop (Very likely he is talking about 108MP camera)
  • 16GB RAM as one variant (my source says the ram amount will blow away the Note 10+, so I assume this will be the least max amount that will come along)
  • Display to be either 90/120Hz
  • Camera cutout to go smaller and at center. Under display camera will come with Galaxy S12, whose launch could be delayed.

All 3 Galaxy S11 variants will be 5G enabled, at least in the US. Not sure whether there'll be a separate 4G edition or not...

I'm hearing two wildly contrasting things:
  • Galaxy S11 Series global unveiling on February 18 (Looks way more accurate)
  • From a solid source: Samsung is looking to eliminate the distinction between its S and Note series. They are debating their branding strategy. It could result in the S and Note series merging into a Galaxy "One" series. This is happening because there are a lot of feature overlaps when it comes b/w S and Note series, majorly except the S Pen. The new series will have the S Pen as well.

So Q1 -> Galaxy One series launch and Q3 -> Galaxy Fold launch (Looks really inaccurate but comes from solid sources)
