When today's world is moving on with the smartphones running on Android and iOS platforms, Reliance Jio plans to launch feature phones with 4G VoLTE technology. These feature phones are expected to be priced between Rs 1,000 and Rs 15,000.
It seems like, Jio will bring these feature phones in order to acquire some market share in feature phone segment in the country as Indian brands like Micromax and Intex are still in the field of making feature phones. It is also to be noted down that currently, feature phones have a 56% market share.
The report says that the company will be launching VoLTE feature phones by this year-end or in the first quarter of 2017. Just to update, VoLTE is a software feature that enables the users to make voice calls over an LTE network.
It is expected that 4G VoLTE enabled feature phones will come with Spreadtrum 9820 processor.
