A 41MP Nokia Windows Phone 8 device has been
long rumoured, with the codename Nokia EOS.
Today, the phone has bared it all for a tipster’s
camera as photos of the phone have been leaked
in all its glory. The photos were sent by an
unnamed source to the Chinese tech site WPDang,
following which GSMArena and Vizileaks
came forward with their own set of photos.
WPCentral earlier had reported that an AT&T
version of the Nokia EOS was already being tested
in the carrier’s labs. The phone was internally
codenamed “Elvis” for some reason and sources
revealed that it housed the 41 megapixel sensor
like the one in the 808 PureView. Along with the
mammoth sensor, the phone will also sport a
Xenon flash and also incorporate 32GB of on-
board memory. The screen will of an OLED
768x1280 resolution, and the phone itself will be
capable of picking up FM Radio. The best part
about the phone happens to be that despite the
large sensor and a Xenon flash, Nokia’s managed
to keep the phone 1mm slimmer than the existing
Lumia 920.
As you can see in the images, the phone is quite
thin, especially when compared to the original
PureView 808 . Even the camera hump is much
smaller than the one on the original phone. As of
now, we officially know that a 41MP Windows
Phone from Nokia exists, but there is no word on
when the phone will be announced. However, if it
has already reached carriers for testing, then it
shouldn’t be too long.
