On October 29, 2023, the beloved black and yellow taxis of Mumbai will be saying their goodbyes, reminiscent of the farewell bid to the red double-decker buses from BEST. The final vehicle, a Fiat 1100D, also known as the Premier Padmini, was registered on the same date in 2003 with the number MH01 JA 2556. After a 20-year journey, today marks the end of an era, as these iconic black and yellow taxis become part of history. It is our hope that the Maharashtra Government and the Mumbai Nagar Palika will consider preserving at least one of these taxis for the benefit of future generations.

Actually this statement sounds like a generalisation about the withdrawal of all black and yellow taxis from Mumbai. Whereas only the Padmini Fiat is going off the roads, the newer models which are currently registered and plying on the streets still continue with the same black and yellow colour scheme.

Dadar Station's Central line side platforms will be renumbered from tomorrow. Instead of 1 to 7 they will be numbered as 8 to 14. This is being done so the numbers can be continuous with 1-7 for Western line platforms and 8-14 for central line platforms to avoid confusion during announcements and people landing on the wrong platform.
