Internet browser Mozilla Firefox has launched
a brand new low cost smart phone Intex
Cloud FX which has a Firefox operating system.
This sale is actually a landmark for the
introduction of this smart phone in the India
and Asian market.
The new smart phone went on the floors on
one of the largest e-shopping portal
Snapdeal.com and has exclusive retail
partnership with the e-shopping portal. Till
now the most affordable android smart phone
was above Rs 2000, but with Intex Cloud FX,
the Mozilla phone being the most affordable
one.
The ultra-affordable Firefox smart phone is
powered by the efficient Mozilla’s Firefox
operating system. The device offers an
enhanced overall smart phone experience.
Apparently it was earlier retailed at Rs 2490
rupees but it the phone is now currently
available at a discount of 20 per cent. So the
phone is now available at just Rs 1999.
Intex Cloud FX boasts of a 3.5 inch touch
screen, dual SIM 2G support, 1 GHz
processor,128MB RAM1.3 MP rear camera and
0.3 front camera. Other specifications include
46MB of built-in storage, with support for
micro SD cards (up to 4GB). Connectivity
options include GPRS/ EDGE, Wi-Fi, Micro-USB,
Bluetooth, FM radio, and a 3.5mm audio jack.
This new venture may get thumbs up since the
apps on Firefox OS is basically modified web
page of the apps, that does not need to be
installed. Also, the app developers are not
bound by app-store rules and are free to
publish any app on the Firefox market place.
The smart phone has been made available in 15
countries across Europe, South America, and
Latin America. Although the phone boasts as
the cheapest and most useful brand new smart
phone, will it beat the dominating android clan
only sales figures and time will tell. http://us.india.com/whatever/mozilla-firefox-launches-intex-cloud-fx-at-mere-price-of-rs-1999-129737/
