Motorola has started rolling out the new
Android 5.0 Lollipop update for its first
generation Moto G devices in India. The over-
the-air (OTA) Android 5.0 Lollipop update for
the Moto G (Gen 1) is now available with a
build number 220.21.16.en.03 and users will
receive a notification when the update is
available for them to download and install.

In case, you haven't received your notification
yet, you can also check manually for the
update by following the traditional protocol:
Settings>About phone>System updates.

The Android 5.0 Lollipop update for the Moto G
(Gen 1) brings in the already known stack of
changes to the device, more prominent being
the advent of the new Material Design UI. The
new UI brings along crisp fluid animations, as
well as all new themes and widgets to the
device. Moreover, the new update brings in
features like Smart Lock, a revamped Motorola
Assist among others as well as key
performance improvements. Motorola has also
posted the complete changelog for the update
on its official support page.

While Motorola devices continue to stay in
limelight globally, the company is bringing out

updates to possibly all of its phone as
promised, even earlier than most other
companies. Only last month, the company had
officially announced the latest Android update
rollout for its Moto G (Gen 2) and Moto X (Gen
2) smartphones.
