Microsoft's cloud storage service just got updated with a few features, one of them being the addition of a recycle bin. The feature is accessible at the bottom of the left sidebar.

Users will now be able to retrieve accidentally deleted files. The earlier version prompted users with a warning dialog confirming file deletions. But now this has been replaced by an "undo" option that pops up at the bottom right of the screen just after you have deleted a file. Users can restore files using this option.

Items in the recycle bin are saved for at least 3 days. If the storage limit of the files in the bin exceeds 10%, Microsoft will start deleting older files and permanently delete files that were in the bin for over 30 days and haven't been restored.

Apart from this, the software giant also announced its plans to bring Excel Surveys to SkyDrive. It's a feature just like the one offered by Google Docs through Google Forms. "Like the recycle bin, this has been a top request from students in particular, as they're great for getting suggestions for a group project or party, collecting feedback or research results, running a competition, and much more," the company said in a blogpost.

The company hasn't provided an exact timeline but says that they're putting this through some final tweaks, and users should expect to see Excel surveys show up in their SkyDrive soon.
