New Delhi: Microsoft is likely to introduce its recently announced Lumia 640 and Lumia 640XL smartphones in India on April 7. The company had started sending out media invites with a tagline "Inspiration doesn't only work 9 to 5!" for its event on Tuesday. Now, Flipkart has also teased the upcoming budget smartphones through its Twitter handle.

Flipkart's Twitter post shows two medals, themed with Microsoft's signature Windows colour code, which have battery and camera signs etched on them- a clear indicator the software giant's next smartphones which are said to have better battery backup and improved camera.

The Microsoft Lumia 640 smartphone sports a 5-inch HD display and is packed with a 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and 1GB of RAM. It includes 8GB of internal storage which is expandable up to 128GB via a microSD card. The phone also comes with 15GB of free cloud storage on OneDrive.

The smartphone has an 8-megapixel rear camera with flash, a 1-megapixel front-facing camera for video-calling and is powered with a 2,500mAh battery.

The Microsoft Lumia 640 sports a 5-inch HD display, while the Lumia 640 XL is a 5.7-inch smartphone. Both the smartphones can be upgraded to Microsoft's next OS, Windows 10.

The Lumia 640 XL, on other hand, has a display size of 5.7-inches and is powered with a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. The phone features 1GB of RAM and is loaded with Windows Phone 8.1 and the Lumia Denim Update. The phone comes pre-installed with Office applications - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and OneNote.

The Lumia 640 XL has a 13-megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera and is powered with a 3,000 mAh battery.

640 will be around Rs 9,500 and 640 XL around Rs 12,500. This is just an estimation based on international prices. Microsoft is keeping its price low and giving good specifications whereas Nokia used to charge more for avg specifications
