Baba Ramdev’s Patanjali Ayurved, is one of the fast growing FMCG whose net sales for the financial year 2015-16 stood at Rs 5,000 crore, surges its popularity recently after the announcement to launch ‘swadeshi’ jeans

But Ramdev is just a face and the real man behind this bussines giant is Balkrishna Suvedi, often referred as Acharya Balkrishna – a close aide of the Yoga teacher.
Balkrishna entered the Hurun India Rich List 2016 as a billionaire recently with an astounding Rs 25,600 crore ($3.82 billion) under his belt, finishing at the 26th place out of 339 individuals in India, according to Times of India Report.
The 43 year old who own 94 per cent of Patanjali business is not been far away from controversies

The report says that the bussines giant is associated with number of controversies which include fake degree and fake passport to name a few.
According to the report, Balkrishna’s high school and Sanskrit degrees from Sampurna Nand Sanskrit University, allegedly do not exist on records.
“His high school degree – ‘Purv Madhyma’ and Sanskrit degree – ‘Shastri’ from Sampurna Nand Sanskrit University – do not allegedly exist on records,” the report alleges

He was also charged with cheating and criminal conspiracy for procuring fake degrees to acquire an Indian passport. He was born to Nepalese parents who later migrated to India

In 2012, the CBI claimed that his passport was issued based on forged high school and graduation certificates and that he owned a pistol without a legal permit. Later, he was arrested

In addition to the controversies, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) also filed a case against him. After a two-year CBI investigation, he was given clean chit after the ED found “no evidence” of wrongdoing.
Born to Nepalese parents – Sumitra Devi and Jay Vallabh – who later migrated to India, Balkrishna met Ramdev at a gurukul in Haryana. They founded an ayurvedic pharmaceutical company named Divya Pharmacy in Haridwar in the 1990s. To cash in on the popularity and huge following of Ramdev worldwide, Balkrishna later helped set up a number of other businesses serving as the managing director in 34 of them. He heads three trusts associated with Ramdev and his Patanjali
