Catching up with the race of Android smartphones in India, LG will introduce its first quad core smartphone with 720p HD display next week. LG will bring in two new models running Android 4.0 aka Ice Cream Sandwich- Optimus L5 and Optimus 4X HD. LG Optimus 4X HD is expected to be priced at around Rs 32,000, while the Optimus L5 will be around Rs 16,000.

The Optimus 4X HD will include a quad core Nvidia Tegra processor clocked at 1.5 GHz with a low power GeForce graphics chip and 1 GB RAM under its hood. Its powered by Optimus 3.0 UI for a sweeter Ice Cream Sandwich experience. It comes along with 16 GB on-board storage and a microSD card slot to accommodate a memory card of up to 32 GB.

Other features of the Optimus 4X HD are an 8 MP rear camera with LED flash and autofocus. It records 1080p HD video at 30 frames per second. A 1.3 megapixel front facing camera for video calling and chat is also included. Powered by a 2150 mAh battery, you can talk for about 9 hours over 3G.
