KANPUR Police launch Facebook, Twitter pages

KANPUR: The zone police launched
Facebook and Twitter pages on
Saturday for toll-free helpline
number 'Ek number Bharosey Ka
0512-2310512 (a number to trust on),
where people across nine districts
can also post complaints. The zone
police already has a strong social
media presence with a good number
of followers on WhatsApp.
"Zone police is happy to connect
with people of nine cities, including
Kanpur on Facebook and Twitter. If
you want to register your complain,
you may post details with supporting
photograph or short video clip with
your name, place, date, time etc. on
Facebook and Twitter, besides on
WhatsApp mobile number-
7704020202. We would also post
things which are relevant to the
people of our zone. Our aim is to
deliver you quick response at your
doorstep so that you can save your
time and money," IG Ashutosh
Pandey said.
"We assure you of prompt action on
your complaint and feedback about
action taken," he added.The
Facebook page, named `1 number'
was launched on Saturday and
within hours of it going online, the
page had got 848 likes. On Twitter,
the police is available by username
`1numberbharosa'.
The police would upload photos of
wanted criminals and other things
like sketches so that public can help
in nabbing such elements.Toll-free
Helpline "Ek number Bharosey Ka"
has been launched with an aim to
encourage citizen to report violations
and illegal activities with ease.
The Zone police had also nailed
down corrupt policemen with the
help of audio and video clips being
sent l through WhatsApp. "In case a
police officer demands a bribe or
harasses an individual, one can alert
us through Toll-free helpline number
"Ek number Bharosey Ka", besides
through WhatsApp mobile number or
through Facebook and Twitter
pages," the IG added.
