As the Indian Premier League's ninth edition is heading towards its business end, fight to make it to the top four is becoming intense with every passing game.

The ongoing edition has been action-packed thus far. And the fight for orange and purple cap is also intensifying.

Here are few interesting stats one should know about IPL 9.

483 sixes have been hit thus far in the ninth edition.

14,759 runs have already been scored in the ongoing edition of the cash-rich league.

Kings X1 Punjab's left-arm spinner Axar Patel has picked the only hat-rick of the season.

RCB's AB de Villiers unbeaten 129-run knock is the highest individual score of the season.

Rising Pune Supergiants' Adam Zampa's 6/19 is the best bowling figures of the season thus far.

Bangalore's 248/3 against Gujarat Lions is the highest score by any team.

Top three leading wicket takers

Mumbai Indians' Mitchell McClenaghan is leading the chart with 17 wickets in 13 games.

With 16 wickets in 12 matches Sunrisers Hyderabad's Bhuvneshwar Kumar is at the 2nd spot.

Kolkata Knight Riders' all rounder Andre Russell is in the 3rd position with 15 scalps in 11 games.

Top three leading run scorers

Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper Virat Kohli is right at the top with 677 runs in 11 innings, with the help of three tons and four half-centuries.

Australia's David Warner, who is leading the Hyderabad's franchise has smashed six half centuries in 12 games to hold the 2nd spot with 567 runs.

The superman, AB de Villiers, is at the 3rd position with 538 runs in 11 matches. The South African has four half centuries and a hundred to his name.

Points Table

Hyderabad are right at the top of the table with eight wins in 12 games and have virtually booked a spot in the playoffs.

Under the leadership of Gautam Gambhir, Kolkata are sitting at the 2nd position with seven wins in 11 matches.

Mumbai Indians have 14 points in 13 matches as they have won seven games thus far in the tournament.

Suresh Raina-led Gujarat Lions hold the 4th spot with seven wins in 12 matches.

Delhi Daredevils, who have punched above their weight under the new skipper Zaheer Khan are at 5th spot, with six wins in 11 games.

Bangalore have to win their all three remaining matches to seal a place in the playoffs as they have won five games out of the 11 played.

Kings XI Punjab are virtually out of playoffs race after losing eight off their 12 matches.

MS Dhoni-led new franchise have had a forgettable season as they are placed at the bottom with just three wins in 12 matches.
