Some Source Says
Chrish Gayle out from IPL 👍

As per Report's from BCCI sources- IPL 2021 mega auctions to be held in January and 9th team addition is on the way where as many big players are going to be back in Auctions pool.

Also BCCI is trying to organise Syed Mustaq Ali Trophy to Franchises before Ranji trophy to make their squad beneficial with this uncapped player additions.

IPL 2021 mega auctions to be held in January and 9th team addition is on the way
If the 9th team is coming, the announcement of their owners should come before 45 days of the auction..

Just loud thinking -
1. Have 11 teams (if there is genuinely interested owners other than Adani)
2. Each team plays the other once - same 56 matches it will be
3. Allow 5 foreign players per team so that quality does not drop
4. Extra bonus point for big margin wins

My views are different from what Harsha Bhogle has in the video. My views are the managers of IPL (BCCI) need do whatever it takes to have 8 potentially winning teams instead of 2-3. And for that, a Mega-Auction without Retentions or RTMs is a must every 3 years in my opinion.

To the idea of nurturing a player and continuing to have that player by the same team as said in the video - How does that work? A person nurtured by an organization may improve with time and seek better job opportunities. This happens all the time in the world, isn't it. By that logic, Sundar Pichai would have to stick to teaching in IIT because they nurtured him. Or, Narendra Modi would have to stick with the tea stall owner who nurtured him.

An IPL example - Why would Ishan Kishan want to be stuck with 6.8 crores if he can make more by being in the auction? Ofcourse nuturing and sticking with that player can happen if BCCI removes the current money cap of 80crores and no auctions. Signup whomever you want by talking to the player. Easy to predict what would happen then.

100% agree with Mr. Harsha on both the points:
1) 9 team IPL is the maximization of profit, while 10 teams will be recipe for disaster....
But with BCCI in legal complications with Kochi Tuskers, one never knows as they are in huge pressure to have an IPL team in renovated Ahmedabad Stadium....
2) With Foreign talent in abundance as only 4 can play, focus should be on scouting and narturing Indian Domestic Talent by the Franchisees....
No player can be forced for retention, Prime example is Dhawan who was not happy with Retention amount, went into the auction and brought at lower price then retention amount by SRH. That led to him being unhappy at hyderabad and was evantually traded to Delhi....
If a player is not happy in the team or Corporate world it's impossible to get the best out of him.....
So Auction is also dubious at times, as it all depends on timing at which player is auctioned, Someone like Cris Lynn goes for only 2Cr and Cummins or Unadkat in the past gone for sky high amount, without the Returns at such price.....
