India has been ranked the fourth most military power in the world. According to the Global Fire Power Index 2017, India's military strength is second only to the US, Russia, and China. Rival Pakistan ranks 13th in the list. The report also gives details which can provide a comparison between the militaries of China, Pakistan, and India. While India has retained its position in the top five militaries in the world, Pakistan made it to top 15 only last year. Interestingly, according to the report, France, Germany, UK, Japan and Israel, though in top 15, rank much behind India.

I leave it to the viewers on above quoted lines

Problem with India is that by structure its military is heavily decentralised to prevent any coup to uproot Civilian Govt. In a way our constitution makers were correct if we see what happened to pakistan and that justifies decentralisation but this decentralisation also makes it very difficult to coordinate among different armed force branches in hostile situation.

Number does matter and this is proved in WWII and we have 2nd largest army and largest military reserve force personal. And as a peaceful nation there is no chance of India going against war against any nation except Pak/China. So there is no way to measure directly

In terms of technology ??

So the above article fake

You cannot call that fake if they gave more weightage to army personal number while creating scoring among different nations.

Suppose you gave 20% weightage for number of army personal but i gave 40% to create a score of different nations. So in your case India's rank will be lower but in my scale India's rank will be higher. It all depends on how much weightage you gave on what like army personal/combat experience/number of combat vehicle/operational readiness/nuclear weapons etc.

In terms of technology India's rank will be much lower than all these as India buy all stuff. And when you sell some weapon you will make sure that you sell downgrade version of that weapon or you have a much better upgraded version of that weapon.

But one thing to remember is that Germans/Japanese were technologically way more superior than US/UK/Russia alliance in WWII but still germans lost so better technology does not give you win, it's the better strategy which gives you win.
