Number three telco Idea Cellular to Thursday said that it has partnered with ecommerce portal Flipkart to offer 15GB data at the cost of 1GB to Idea customers who purchase 4G smartphones on Flipkart.
"Idea aims to get more and more customers to join the digital bandwagon and experience Idea’s 4G mobile broadband services across the country," Sashi Shankar, Chief Marketing Officer, Idea Cellular, said in a statement.
The offer can be availed thrice till March 31, 2017.
Idea customers will also be eligible to avail 70% discount on the purchase of accessories such as 10,000 mAH power banks.
"By way of this association, we are looking at enabling a billion Indians easy access to latest technology bundled with great data offers," Ajay Yadav, Head – Mobiles, Flipkart, said in a statement.
The move holds relevance since disruptive entrant Reliance Jio Infocomm extended its free data and voice services till March 31, 2017 while incumbents have been aggressively trying to retain their market share.
