ea Cellular on Wednesday launched high speed fourth-generation (4G) LTE mobile services across all five states of South India - Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala and Telangana.
In the first phase, Idea's high speed 4G Network will be available across 75 towns in the south.
The major towns to be covered by Idea's 4G LTE services during the launch are - Kochi, Hosur, Kadapa, Malappuram, Madurai, Mysore, Rajahmundry, Tiruchirappalli, Tirunelveli, Tirupur, Vijayawada and Vishakhapatnam, while Belgaum, Calicut, Cuddalore, Chitradurga, Guntur, Kakinada, Kancheepuram and Thrissur will follow by December 31.
Idea said it will rapidly expand 4G services in all the metros and large towns in the south including Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Trivandrum, Mangalore and Coimbatore by March, 2016
Idea customers with 4G devices in these 75 towns can now start experiencing superfast speeds by simply upgrading their existing SIM cards to new 4G SIM cards, the company said.
