It has been long rumoured that Google is working to integrate its Android, Google Chrome and Google+ gaming platforms. The search engine giant recently launched revamped Google Play app store. And now reports are Google is working on a centralised social gaming app, which will be very much similar to Apple's Game Center app. Google's social gaming app, destined for Android OS, will be featuring leaderboards, achievements system, trophies, awards and have social aspect to it.

Business Insider in its report says Google's app will feature a social “achievement” system, which gives people awards and trophies for their accomplishments in games. The app also has a leaderboard, which will rank gamers against each other.

The report further says the search engine giant has now realised the importance of games, considering their role in popularising the iPhone, and is making a native client. Google CEO Larry Page is pushing its developers to integrate the company products more closely together. What's unclear is whether or not Google will try to integrate Plus into the app.

"They are starting to really understand all of the needs and wants to make a game really successful," the reports quotes an industry source close to developers. "As recently as even a year ago, that really wasn't part of their institutional DNA, But I think they're getting there."

If we take examples of Facebook and Farmville, gaming has played key role in increasing a social network's user base. Google will want similar success with its latest social networking experiment, Google+. Google may launch the new feature at its Google IO in June.
