Verizon Xoom 3G only for now

Google made a handful of announcements during the Google I/O 2011 conference and in addition to the already known "Ice Cream Sandwich" name for the next Android version that should roll out in Q4, Google has also announced a new update, taking its current Android Honeycomb to version 3.1. Unfortunately, the new update is limited to Verizon Xoom tablet for now, but Google hinted that other devices might get in the next couple of weeks.

The new Android 3.1 brings a wide variety of improvements and tune ups including resizable widgets, USB host mode for importing photos directly from camera or using any other USB device that you can think of, Google's new Movies app for movie renting, a new Books app, video edition MovieStudio app, faster web browser with new Quck Controls menu and much more.

The star of the show is definitely the announcement that this OS will be available for Google TV sometimes this summer.

According to current details, the new 3.1 update is currently limited to Verizon Xoom 3G tablets, but Google did mention that Galaxy Tab 10.1 might get it in next couple of weeks, and we are quite sure that non-3G Xoom will be there somewhere.
