Google Chrome 49 OS updated gets new material redesign and more

Earlier this month, Google started rolling out a steady version of the Chrome 49 browser for OS X, Windows, Linux and Android devices . The tech giant has now released the same for all the Chrome OS devices.

The new Chrome OS 49 incorporates a new material redesign for media players, ability to choose keyboard layout of Extension IME and Raiden notification for dual-role devices. Along with this the update also allows MJPEG HW decoding for Arm based devices and enables adding video preview and album cover as thumbnails in Files app.

In an official blog post, Josafat Garcia, Technical Program Manager, Google, said, "The new build consists of a number of bug fixes, security updates, and feature enhancements. Moreover, the users with Chrome OS systems should start receiving updates over the next several days."

Google's stable version of Chrome 49 for OS X, Windows and Linux introduced several bug fixes along with various new user friendly features. The new build integrated smooth scrolling functionality with 26 security fixes. On the other hand, for Android Google Chrome improved the background sync feature.
