UCWeb has teamed up with Facebook in India to bring instant push notifications from the social network to the browser.

This means, the browser will let users view real-time notifications from Facebook even when browsing different websites. The notifications will then direct the user to the Facebook app or mobile site.

You won’t require any add-on and the new version of the UC Browser will be available to download at ucweb.com. Needless to say, you will need to log into your Facebook account via UC browser.

UCWeb has issued a statement saying, “This is the first time Facebook is teaming up with a mobile browser to allow real-time notifications outside of its native app.”

With this partnership, Facebook continues to push its services in the Indian market, which is its second largest market after the U.S. In fact, it is believed that India could soon take over the US with largest number of active users.

A survey last week reveled that Facebook is the leader of social media and added that the social networking site has also made inroads into becoming the popular choice among the elderly.

According to another survey, Facebook is by far the most popular social media website with others like Twitter and LinkedIn lagging far behind.
