Facebook, Google hearing in court today

New Delhi: A district court in Delhi will hear a civil suit on Monday against 20 social networking sites including Facebook, Google for posting objectionable content on the web.

The online companies are expected to present their compliance report before the judge today.

Earlier, the Court had asked the websites to remove all the objectionable content from their websites by today.

The legal trouble for companies including Orkut, Yahoo and YouTube is based on a petition filed by Vinay Rai, a Delhi resident who has pointed the court to obscene depictions that he found online of Hindu deities, the Prophet Mohammed and Jesus Christ.
