I loves trains so much. Specially watching rural India through it. Don't like the local trains though. It's overcrowded.

Exactly . For me it's the rail route where Ghat sections and mountains start . They are a treat to watch especially in Monsoon . Also @Bapun Raz Bhai , your views on the Same

I also love travelling in trains but after the Covid era, I hardly travelled anywhere via train. I share the same views as @iDJ bro, like he said, local trains are overcrowded.

Afternoon & after 9pm it's almost empty in local train not sure about other state but in Chennai but i loved to travel in train after 9pm everyday or Sunday day time

Depending on where you going here in West Bengal South section trains I can assure after office time 9am all up local trains are empty hardly overcrowd and in down section all time middium crowd specialy when office hour ends only after 8:30pm down section trains less crowded but one local train is haven for South section rail passengers that is baruipur local always less crowded.

I like train journey specialy because vendors the food / snacks they sell just
and some time local singers also make journey memorable all though I never travel via train for long journey so I not know how that feels

Try to go for a long journey as well especially in Monsoons
