Rain has washed out play in four matches —not a ball was bowled in three— in the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup in England. Another was truncated to 41 overs by the unusually heavy downpours that have left fans despondent.

Also glum is broadcaster Star india, which is currently staring at an advertising revenue loss of close to Rs 100 crore, said experts. To be sure, much of it will be covered by insurance but payments can take their own sweet time coming and Star will still have to bear a substantial chunk of costs. The number may exceed Rs 200 crore, especially if Sunday’s match between India and Pakistan at Old Trafford is hit. The weather office currently says there’s a 60% chance of rain in Manchester, where the arch rivals are scheduled to clash
