Bharti Airtel seeks Jio J&K license cancellation for flouting rules

Bharti Airtel has sought cancellation of Reliance Jio Infocomm’s licence in Jammu & Kashmir, alleging that the newcomer wrongly classified 95% of its subscribers in the state as post-paid users, causing a security breach. Jio rejected the claim as “completely baseless, malicious and tantamount to willful disparagement.”

Escalating the war of words between them, the market leader claimed Jio categorised 7 lakh customers in the troubled northern state as post-paid even though they were pre-paid users in ‘blatant manipulation and violation of directions.’ Jio violated rules and compromised security in the region, which could jeopardise the move to block telecom services to prepaid customers as ordered by the state, Airtel said.

“By violating the subscriber verification guidelines, RJIL has caused a serious security breach and is therefore liable for punitive action in terms of clause 39.11(i) of the unified licence,” Airtel said in a letter to the telecom department dated May 30.

Airtel is just finding ways to bring down JIO

instead, they shud concentrate on making their services even better!

Also, JIO shud be penalised if found that they have flouted norms! J&K is a sensitive area and JIO shudnt go light in there

Let's not forget that these cheap tactics were started by Jio
