Consumers may have to pay more for using natural gas (CNG) and cooking gas (PNG, or piped natural gas) from next month as the benchmark price for natural gas produced from domestic fields is expected to hit a two-year high during the six-monthly revision due on April 1.
The government may raise domestic natural gas price next week to its highest level in two years, a move that will translate into higher CNG price and increase cost of electricity and urea production.
