The BBC Asian Network has banned Kulwinder Billa’s new song ‘Sucha Soorma’ after calls by a newspaper that the station was glorifying so-called honour killings.
The song, which entered the Network’s Official Asian Download Chart was also promoted by a BBC Twitter account as it was played on the station.
Britain’s daily tabloid, Mirror had alerted the BBC bosses saying it was “inappropriate”.
