Are the Star sports HD channels picture format 720p ot 1080i?

It was 1080i since inception. I watched the 2011 world cup in 1080i. Just to clarify we had star cricket HD and ESPN HD at that time

All over the world 1080i is standard for HD channels

only few PPV channels are 1080p in USA

1080p possible but it consumes double bandwidth of 1080i so financially not feasible. With the new HEVC codec they can broadcast 1080p with same bandwidth as current 1080i. Lets see what happens in future when hevc set top boxes becomes default.
