Last week Apple had confirmed that it will be launching its new iPhone SE and 9.7-inch iPad Pro in India early next month. While the release date for the iPhone SE has been confirmed for April 8, BGR India has learnt that the 9.7-inch iPad Pro will be made available on the same day. It is the first time Apple will be releasing its new iPhone and iPad on the same day. It may be recalled that the iPhone 6s was launched in October whereas the iPad Pro was launched about two months later in December.
The 9.7-inch iPad Pro 32GB (Wi-Fi only) is
priced at Rs 49,900 while the 32GB (Wi-Fi + Cellular) variant will be available for Rs 61,900. So far, there’s no word on the India pricing of the 128GB and 256GB variants. Along with the new iPads, Apple’s new range of accessories will also be launched in India. The Apple Pencil is priced at Rs 8,600 whereas the Smart Keyboard Case will be available for Rs 13,900. The Smart Cover and Silicone Cases will be available for Rs 3,700 and Rs 5,200 respectively.
Apple’s other accessories such as lightning to SD Card Camera Reader (Rs 2,500), Lightning to USB 3 Camera Adapter (Rs 2,900), Apple 29W USB-C Power Adapter (Rs 4,100), Lightning to USB-C Cable (Rs 2,300) and Lightning to USB-C Cable (2 meters) (Rs 2,900) will also be made available.
The new iPad Pro has a 9.7-inch ‘True Tone Display’. It runs the latest iOS 9.3 and is powered by an A9X processor and M9 co-processor. Other important features include a 12-megapixel iSight camera with support for 4K video recording, an 8-megapixel front facing camera, and connectivity options like Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS and 4G LTE. So far, the 9.7-inch iPad Pro has received mostly positive reviews with many describing it as a worthy successor to the iPad Air 2.
