Airtel launches 4G services in Assam

India's number one telecom operator Bharti Airtel on Tuesday launched its 4G services in Assam with services going live in Dibrugarh and Tinsukia.

The 4G services have been rolled out using using TD LTE in 2300 MHz band. It will also deploy FD LTE technology in 1800 MHz band in the coming weeks.

"With the launch, customers can also look forward to exciting data offers, and choose from a host of affordable tariff plans that offer great value,” Sameer Anjaria, CEO, Airtel North Eastern States and Assam said in a statement.
Airtel announced for its prepaid users 10 GB 4G data at Rs 249 with any new 4G handset.

Under this offer, 1 GB data will be instantly credited to the customer’s account and the additional 9 GB data can be claimed by the customer through My Airtel app. Users can avail a maximum of 3 recharges within 90 days on the offer.

The launch of Airtel 4G in Assam is a part of
Project Leap for which the company will invest a sum of Rs 60,000 crores over the next three years.
