Airtel is still providing Prepaid Xstream Fiber connections. While JioFiber has discontinued new prepaid connections. This is a place where Airtel is ahead of Jio.

Many users don't want postpaid or advance rental connections but forced to take it because Jio has made their broadband connections available only on postpaid type connections.

Discussion on JioFiber prepaid discontinuation: No JioFiber prepaid plan from now on?

This video uploaded by Airtel Cares Youtube handle confirm the availability of their prepaid connections.

Their network is more stable too. Also they got superior offering on basic broadband plans plans. You get 10 Mbps speed. But you are compensated with DTH to watch tv along with a smartbox. I consider them more affordable than Jio just because of Airtel Black.

I think they just want to force users to not switch easily or try any other broadband. Since, we'll have to continue paying them, so most people would not want to pay for another broadband at the same time.

And even their postpaid is like prepaid. 🥲

It's for ₹399. 10 Mbps more than worth it if you are using for basic work or to stream content.
Yes, but around same pricing or little extra Excitel giving 400Mbps.
In India, it should be 500Mbps for 999 per month and 1999 per month for 1Gbps.

I wonder if these ISPs are just looting us or the price is more because of their infrastructure and bandwidth cost. From what I have read, Airtel, Jio and Tata rely more on their own bandwidth while ISPs like Excitel rely more on peering, so they could usually offer at less price. 🤔

They are not offering DTH or unlimited calls.

Subpar service than also in limited areas. These ISPs keeps on switching providers.
