Key Points:

Range of goods like TV, AC, Cameras, Dishwashers ,etc will become cheaper as it will be set to 18% GST from 28%.

GST Council expected to slash rates to 18 percent on all products in the 28 percent slab, except demerit goods, cement and automobiles.

Proposal in what could effectively set 18 percent as the highest GST tax slab, except only three categories of goods and services.

FYI, this is not centres decision. Its GST Council in which centre has 50% powers and States (29) that have 50% powers. So its a collective decision and nothing related to polls. Since new year is coming they are planning this

And GST is a evolving process where they can keep reducing taxes after feedback from stakeholders, and centre alone cant change rates of GST unless 2/3 states agree.

And bro do u know how much taxes was "looted" in VAT and Sales Tax/Service Tax regime ???

Restaurants is 5% GST earlier system it was 15% Service tax, so which elections came that time ???

Yes I agree in Restaurants they have done good but any many other things they have unfairly hiked the tax rates under this GST and also people face a lot of problems after the implementation of GST because it was not properly implemented.
